  • Orlando Counseling Services, LLC (OCS) is required by law to protect your health information and to explain how we use it. This is a summary of your rights and our responsibilities.

    How we use your information: We use your Protected Health Information (PHI) only to provide your care, process payment, and operate our practice. We may share your information with insurance providers, Medicaid, and HIPAA-compliant business partners (such as our scheduling platform). We will never sell your information.

    When we are required to share it: Pennsylvania law requires us to report suspected abuse or neglect, and to act when there is an imminent risk of harm to you or others. In those situations, disclosure may occur without your authorization.

    Your rights: You have the right to access your records, request corrections, restrict certain uses, and receive a list of disclosures. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@ocstherapy.com or (724) 618-4063.

    Complaints: If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you may contact OCS directly or file a complaint with the HHS Office for Civil Rights at hhs.gov/ocr. You will never face retaliation for filing a complaint.

    What we collect: If you contact us through our website, we collect the information you choose to provide (name, email, phone, message). Our platform (Squarespace) may collect anonymous technical data — such as browser type and pages visited — for site analytics. We do not collect sensitive health information through this website.

    Booking: Appointment scheduling is handled through CarePatron, a HIPAA-compliant third-party platform. Information submitted there is governed by CarePatron's own privacy practices.

    What we do not do: We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Period.

    Cookies: Our website may use cookies for basic functionality and analytics. You may disable these in your browser settings.

  • Beyond your legal rights under HIPAA, OCS maintains specific physical and procedural protections at our Waynesburg facility to safeguard your privacy every time you visit.

    Auditory privacy: All clinical and peer support services are conducted in private, enclosed offices with closed doors. Sound masking is used in hallways and waiting areas to prevent conversations from being overheard. Staff are prohibited from discussing client information in any common area.

    Visual privacy: Computer screens are positioned so they cannot be viewed from waiting or common areas. All devices are locked when unattended. Sign-in sheets are managed by staff to prevent any client from viewing another's information.

    Physical records: All documents containing PHI are secured at all times. At the end of each business day, all records are filed or locked. Any PHI no longer needed is disposed of through HIPAA-compliant secure shredding — never in standard trash.
