Support From Someone Who Has Lived It

Peer support is non-clinical support from someone with shared, lived experience of the same struggles, offering understanding and encouragement from a foundation of mutual respect. It is a powerful form of relational connection driven by a shared journey rather than professional treatment. Your peer specialist is not there to fix you. They are there because they have been where you are, and they made it to the other side. They will walk beside you while you do the same.

How to Get Connected

Peer support at RISE begins with a referral from a licensed practitioner of the healing arts, or LPHA. That title covers most licensed clinicians: physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, psychologists, licensed social workers, licensed professional counselors, and licensed marriage and family therapists. If you already have a provider, they can fax the referral form to (724) 702-4523.

Don't have a provider? Not a problem. Our own group therapy practice, CLAREA, has licensed providers who can meet with you, assist you in determining whether peer support is a good fit, and make the referral themselves. One phone call starts the whole thing.

Peer support is available to people ages 14 and up. Services are covered by Medicaid HealthChoices for members with a qualifying mental health diagnosis, and we offer self-pay rates for anyone who is not a Medicaid recipient.
